Mission

PictureVallombrosa Center, Menlo Park, CA - ITP's first campus
The Transpersonal Alliance is dedicated, through the independent and joint pursuits of its affiliates, to sustaining the development and dissemination of core transpersonal values by providing a community for the advancement of scholarship, teaching, counseling, mentoring and guidance, educational activities, and literary and scientific endeavors in the field of transpersonal psychology.

Ten dimensions of inquiry and practice stem from the Foundational Principles of the Global PhD Program, Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP), which were written by Rosemarie Anderson in the early 2000s in the spirit of her ongoing collaboration with William Braud and other ITP Core Faculty.

Original ITP Values

    Mindfulness
    Compassion
    Discernment

    Appreciation of differences

The Transperaonal Alliance advocates for the advancement and dissemination of independent, postgraduate transpersonal research and program evaluations through posting calls for research participants and the publication of research reports. Listings of academic and professional biographies aim to facilitate networking and collaboration toward the advancement of transpersonal research, education, and transpersonal practices. Independent and joint pursuits shall be generated in a non-centralized manner. Affiliates may initiate in-person gatherings, webinars, and online conferences, regionally and/or globally to be posted under News and Events.  Examples of creative expression and creative writing are included in the website Gallery.

The alliance is not an alumni organization, and its affiliates may not only be ITP alumni and former faculty, but also their students, trainees, and colleagues, who integrate transpersonal values in their respective practices, and continue an active research and professional affiliation with one another on this basis.
